Jesmonite Panel Becomes a Canvas

Did you know that approved Australian Jesmonite manufacturer HGN Design can turn your Jesmonite façade or wall panel into a canvas using just a photo? The ink injection process results in the appearance that the image has been chiseled. As the ink is impregnated into the panel directly during the manufacturing process, the image does not scratch or fade. Changing sunlight creates a range of effects: the image will disappear in direct sunlight. Lateral light makes the relief create shadows in the exposed concrete that make the photo visible.

It’s been a two-year project for the team at Feathercast, which has seen them create a magnificent ‘bronze’ atrium artistic feature for the cruise ship, which set out on its maiden voyage in July 2019. The Low Tide Collection by Wang & Söderström consist of three vessels made from Jesmonite;Favia Vessel, Sebae Vessel & Lobo Vessel. This was part of their exhibition Tides, first presented during Milan Design Week 2019. The collection represents the kind of things that appear when the ocean is pulled away during a low tide.
